Well, I have thought long and hard about what I am going to say here and I may struggle to put it into words, so please bare with me.
I want to thank everyone who has been a part of this forum for all these years. Through the good and great times and the shitty times. To those that have supported me and helped me with the site when I could have just thought fuck it, it's ruined/dead.
This forum has been a huge part of my life since 2003 when I created it under the name Headbangers Ball, then we moved to Invisionfree and I renamed the forum Headbangers Haven. I never imagined to get this far, I never even imagined that people would join to be honest. I have met some amazing people through making this site, and have made many friends along the journey.
Some of you may wonder what I am rambling on about here so I will cut a long story short.
On 13th March, the domain and hosting runs out. I have thought long and hard about weather to keep going and renew or close the site.
But the fact of the matter is I just no longer have the heart in this and haven't for some time. In all honesty this site is too hard for me to run alone without the knowledge that is needed. I don't feel comfortable running this site. The amount of work that will need to be done in the future makes me think it is not worth it.
I appreciate people coming here, logging on and posting abit, but for the amount of posts we are getting a week it is not worth me paying for hosting and domain.
As you all know, I am an extremely laid back admin. I let alot of things go round here. I feel the weight of the world on my sholders with this site and I need to do something about that.
So. 13th March I will not be renewing the site.
However. I would like to know how many of you would join a site that I create through something like Zetaboards or Proboards? I will mean registering again and the content here will be lost. It will be back to basics, Back to the foundations of this site as you know it now. But it is easy to use. I can work with those two more than this.
It will be called something else. Don't know what yet ;D
I will also be keeping the Facebook page, So the spirit of the site will live on through that. There is also a Twitter page and I have found many bands through that so I will keep that also.
If you are interested in a new project. Then I will contact you via, email, Facebook, MSN, Skype, whatever.
I think I have some of you on Facebook. But can you PM me your email just in case.
I hope that you will join me on a new forum.
