An old question that has made its way around time and time again. If you were looking for hosting in 2019, what would you look for?

I am in need of a hosting but really don't know what else to look in. My requirements as of now are Singapore datacenter, live or ticket support, good caching mechanism, 99.5-9% uptime and decent pricing.

Those are one of the most said requirements.
-uptime
-quick support
-local data center

While I do not know of any Singapore data centers off the top of my head, I will keep an eye out for something for you.

Is the data center location a must?

A reliable VPS is always nice. Usually in a nice central place, so Europe, Asia, America and Australia can access it without being particularly slow in one location, although a CDN mostly alleviates that.

My preference usually is for uptime, server location ( I prefer german, UK, US and canada servers), technical support and also lot of documentation from the hosting company when things go south.

@ChrisGrigg CDN = Cloudflare, i am a beginner and have some knowledge about hosting. So don't know how to reply to this.

My current hosting is from Singapore datacenter, shared hosting and i am using Cloudflare but my page insights score is very poor.

I really don't know what are all the factors to look in to increase my website speed.

And I can tell you where some of the problems are, but not necessarily how to fix it.

The initial page could be smaller for a faster transfer, as it seems to be blocking the other resources. I usually aim for 3KB or so with Gosora, the smaller the better.

Also, I'm curious why there are two indianforum.org requests. That seems suspect.

You might also want to use SVGs rather than shipping these massive icon fonts (e.g. fa-regular-400), this is something Mozilla found dramatically improved their site performance.

You also ideally want dramatically smaller CSS files, as these block the page render.

Free SSL certificates are a good addition. Noticing majority of hosting companies offering them to their plans.

You can usually get a free certificate from Let's Encrypt or Cloudflare these days, so might not be that important.

I provide hosting and I try to make sure I give really fast and accurate support and I have worked very hard to provide a stable platform with as little downtime as is possible. Downtime is sometimes required for maintenance but I always try to notify clients well in advance. Location doesn't appear to be as big of an issue as it used to be but I still provide UK servers to UK clients.
