How do you come up with badge ideas on your forum?

Coming up with badge ideas for a forum is something that would take a lot of thought and consideration. You would want to be unique in the choosing of the badges that you offered to your users but also have badges that members would want to use on your forum as well.

I have been looking into badges for my forum but at the moment I have not jumped on it due to not having enough funds for the addon.

How do you come up with badge ideas for your forum? Do they come easy to you or do you find you have to sit and think for a while?

It's indeed hard and I tend to look around for ideas based on what the forum is about. Name style group ranks names and gotta be different that no other sites have got going.

I have spent hours upon hours of time coming up with creative awards that I have not seen before on other forums. It did not come easy, and I had to do a lot of brainstorming in order to accomplish this.

It's epic to have names that no other place would have

Depending on the niche, I'd normally make them relevant. For my old tech forum I had Windows, Mac, Linux etc. and then the names of a few big game titles at the time, and let users buy badges with forum currency. More of a bonding thing I guess, than anything else 🙂

I do not come up with the badges' ideas, I use the default ones. I mainly focus on discussion.
