How do you deal with a bad review about your site?

Just accept the fact and move on, no point starting something up. I mean yes can contact them to talk more about it then again you can do that to any bad or good reviews. going to have those that love it and dislike it.

Buddy, you can't get away from bad reviews, there will always be bad reviews. The good reviews alone are also alarming, believe me. It's part of any field, if there are a lot of bad reviews, then it's time to think maybe something really needs to change. And a moderate amount of bad comments, it's even good)) Relax and keep your site afloat, do good and it will be good, as they say!! ))

I try to learn from it. Sometimes we get stuck in that rut & don't see that changes should be made.

If possible, see if there's anything constructive I could take away from it to work on improving. If the review was something like "site sucks" then you can't learn anything from that and may as well just do your best to not let it get to you and carry on. Everyone will get a bad comment on something they do at some point in their life, and the healthiest thing to do in every case like that is hope you can gain something from it to improve yourself or the targeted subject.

If the review has something constructive in it, then I think there's something that can be learned from it.

But if someone gave you a bad review just to be a douche then don't pay it any attention.

The best way would be to reach out to the person who wrote the review and attempt to resolve any issues or misunderstandings. It’s best to accept your mistake but under some circumstances you should defend your position. If reaching out doesn’t work, you should protect your brand reputation from being damaged and write out a long worded reply going through point by point. This shows to other potential visitors that you’ve already tried to resolve the issue but with no success. It’s all about turning a negative into a positive.

What do you think?

Bad reviews are part of the territory. Even Wal-Mart gets bad reviews. Guess what? No one cares. Wal-Mart still gets thousands of customers despite the griping and whining.

Forums are the same way. There's a guy on a forum I moderate on who whines and complains about everything. But like with Wal-Mart. He still keeps coming back. So don't lose sleep worrying about it. Some people like finding things to gripe about. No worries. Keep your chin up.

Bad review by people sometimes is always a great opportunity for adjustment most especially when you are doing a business.... If in a situation that i discovered bad reviews from people that I have done business with me I'll try as much as possible to settle it will the person who has posted it, I will offer my apology and make refund if possible because this is how business grow

One or two bad reviews do not matter, I will take it seriously only when there are more bad reviews compared to good reviews.

I reckon it depends.

If it is a malicious review that is lies or slander, I would respond by issuing a statement to give the facts. I think reputation management is a big deal.

If it is something genuine, then I will defiantly learn from it and see how I could improve on it. I'd also respond to the reviewer if possible, publicly and try to come up with a solution that makes everyone happy. Again, reputation management-it's a big deal.

I am always open to constructive criticism. It's pretty evident when someone is being downright ugly and I think people are smart enough to quickly recognize when a user is being unreasonable. If someone is taking the time to pick out the flaws of my site I genuinely appreciate it especially if the details I had somehow missed myself. Bonus if the changes actually benefits the site and makes a better experience for visitors!

Some of it I might accept, some not. Some of it might be highly subjective.
