I have recently moves to the UK and it's cold here.
To be honest, I had to use nasal drops often just to breathe freely and it's been close to 4 months...still I just can't get used to this weather. Now, I often get nosebleeds thanks to the excessive usage of nasal drops ;_;
Do you guys have any tips for me?

Are you using regular saline spray for your nose?

If you wear a scarf over your nose when you go outside, it will help keep the dry air out.

You get used to the cold weather 🙂 I do not wear much warm clothing and so I say the body gets used to the weather after awhile

You're right. The body does adjust and I used to live in the Chicagoland area where we had some frigid temps. I've turned into a wimp now where I live when it gets cold.

Did your fingers and hands ever ache and throb really bad from going out in the cold?

Mine do from arthritis when it's really cold out. I worked at a gas station and I could barely stay in their freezer stocking the booze and soda. My hands would hurt so bad.

What happens if you stay out too long?

I could easily get hypothermia. I wear gloves when I feel the cold sensation beginning and I have warm slipper socks to wear to bed at times. This winter hasn't been too bad because my thyroid hormones have been too strong, so it's kept my body warm, which means normal LOL But I can't be on these high levels too long because it's dangerous so my meds have been adjusted twice in the past 2 months.

Well, I am not able to breathe freely without it and I am not sure what to do. 😭.
My doctor appointment will take time.... So....

I understand and I went through that too. It's addictive after a while and forces you to keep taking it. I like using a store brand decongestant pill now, but if you have high blood pressure you can't take it. It's a little red pill and I only take it a couple times a day as needed and that's not that often.

Never heard of it but I will get more info on that pill here. Thank you Katrina! 🙂

This probably won’t be helpful lol But some people never get used to the cold. I live in Michigan, USA & we have 4 seasons. Sometimes in one day (a Michigan joke lol). I’ve lived here all my life & I’m STILL quite cold intolerant.
For alternatives to the nasal spray, you can make a simple sea salt one that is easier to tolerate long term. Only ingredients I use are sea salt & distilled water boiled then let cool. Another option is to run a dehumidifier. A pan of hot water boiling on the stove & cover your head with a towel. Many people have a facial or clothes steamer. It's also a great alternative instead of getting a pot boiling on the stove. Use a Neti Pot.
Hope you get relief soon 🙂

I am using a humidifier (-.-)

I live in Canada so I'm used to cold temperatures and lots of snow. Unfortunately I don't have any tips outside of the ones you've tried though >< Good luck!

I normally prefer fall like weather when it's not too hot and not too cold.

If it's snowing outside, I prefer to be inside when it's snowing and I'm drinking some hot chocolate.

This should probably help haha.

let's go basketball GIF by NBA
