What do you guys think of this little YouTube video? Would you have joined my forum? ๐Ÿ˜›

Haha, oh boy. I feel like I shouldn't be honest for your sake. -- This is very... 2000. :dead: I'm not sure it would have drawn my attention, it was long, hardly explained what information was supposed to be relayed, and the graphics were just short of a complete disaster. Although, I'm sure it was a very honest attempt at the time and for one of your first pieces of marketing material it wasn't all too bad. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yeah, that was bad. Why did you name the forum after yourself, btw? ๐Ÿ˜›

lol Wow. No, I would not have joined. I was a member though so I probably didn't come across the video.

Haha! That's hilarious. I'm afraid the answer would be no. You must've been pretty young back then. Hehe!

Then again, I've never joined any forum because of a video, it's always been because I wanted something. I might as well be honest. I joined here wanting information on something admin related, I joined our old forum A4 because I wanted information on anime (I had only ever seen one), was asked to join the staff shortly after and remained there for over a decade. XD.

So basically, I join for a reason, and if I like the community, I stay and post. FP does have a nice mature and helpful community. It's had it's moments, but what forum doesn't.

Try using Envato After effects template if you have AE. Those envatos templates make any video look beautiful. If you can't manage AE then you can go for Filmora. I have seen many forum intros last year made up from Fimora.

I did! Because I already had. ๐Ÿ˜›

If I weren't, this would definitely NOT have tipped me over the edge. ๐Ÿ˜›

Very nice share. Love the nostalgia.

Haha! That was definitely something, but not a bad effort if it was one of the first things you tried! I probably would have at least clicked on the site to see it. ๐Ÿ˜›

That's what all the cool kids from UpperDeckKids did back in the day. There were hundreds of sports forums on ProBoards, and the vast majority of us named our forums after ourselves. Prior to starting Cmt Sports Forum, I was a co-administrator on a sports forum called CBuzz Sports Forum. The owner's username was CBuzz. I have a million examples of that. ๐Ÿ˜›

Were you a member of the ProBoards one or the phpBB one? This was made back when the forum was located here.

I hope you continue to enjoy FP. Let me know what I can do to improve your experience here. ๐Ÿ™‚

That's definitely a good tip for any future video marketing. In particular, I know Envato used to always have a great monthly freebie as far as video intros go.

Well hey, you even owned the phpBB one at one point. Until I bought it back. Still have those files uploaded somewhere.

Well, once you would have clicked, you would have been blown away by the various graphics featured on our forum. Looking back, all of the different images that we had probably made the forum load very slow.

I didn't turn sound on and just watched the video itself, but the graphics alone were enough for me.

I am so glad it's not 2010 anymore.

I miss the general hearty aesthetic of the early 2000s and 2010s, since around 2012-present and the future it's seemingly been more money/profit focused and such. If the YouTube demonetisation thing happened in 2007 for instance it'd be a minor thing, now everyone makes a huge deal out of money.

I also hate excessive JS and spam everywhere on websites; which is why sometimes I feel like I wish I could roll back to the early 2000s... even though I never really grew up in that era.

Nice share. While it might be cringeworthy now to most, to me it's a relic of the old times and how people used to be them, not overly professional and "be the same as everyone else" type thing.

I was, just wasn't as frequent a visitor. I loved sports talk but absolutely loathed proboards. ๐Ÿ˜›
