I think it is very important since a lot of web safety savvy people won't buy anything from untrustworthy sites, recommend untrustworthy sites to friends, and don't visit sites which feel unsafe and untrustworthy.

I also guest that Google might unindex spam and scam sites very quickly.

yes, it's important to be creditable and build a reputation. No one will buy off your affiliate links for example if you don't build creditability and a reputation. How do I do that? Content. And not just any content, Quality Content.

I also read on http://www.mywot.com/en/trustseal/tips having an professional looking template, easy site navigation, simple to find contact information like E-mail form/address, and Privacy Policy can improve your trust rating.

http://credibility.stanford.edu/guidelines/ is also a good site for learning about being credible. Stanford also saids avoid pop up ads and show that your a credible source by referencing other sites to support your "point of view".

^Indeed, I change the size of my Sig. I just been kind of lazy in cleaning it up. I clean it up now.

I also heard buying a Trush Shield for your site Like the Comodo trust Seal : http://www.comodo.com/news/press_releases/14_08_07.html

and using HTTPS SSL for member accounts can make you even more trust worthy. Gmail now uses HTTPS instead of HTTP for gmail accounts.

But, A trust shield and HTTPS is most beneficial to E-commerce sites like Amazon, and probably won't benefit the average forum much.
