How long did it take for your website to make money?

My site/forum earns revenue from being an affiliate. Its close to 3 month old, and only generatated pennies so far.

I don't mind that because growth is my focus point, and optimizing for revenue is a later goal once we're established.

How long did it take you to start earning revenue from your sites?

I made money from my first website in less than one month. I added donate button and asked friends and family to help me run the website. However, it took more than 6 months to make make a single dollar from ads.

I haven’t monetized my forum yet, and I’m not planning on monetizing it with advertisements for another 6 months to a year.

My main focus is to build up the community and resources, along with the traffic.

The traffic numbers are good for advertisements right now, but I’d rather not monetize just yet.

On my old forum, I would say it took a few months. It took a couple of years to breakeven.
