How many of you rely on Packages and Exchanges

How many admins here at FP rely on packages and exchanges, do you request a package everytime youy waiting time expires, are you an admin that spends their time in the exchange sections of promotion forums in hope of a few more posts on your forum, on the off chance one user might stick around.

honestly if you took away all the package and exchange posts on your forum what would be your real post count and how big a difference would it be to the official one.

Also the same with your members how many of you registered users are real users and not from an exchange or package?

If I took away all the packages and exchanges there would still be a few users. There are multiple using the services I offer which people are interested in. It seems I see a few users already coming back daily to check the job search threads and recruiting threads.

i find em to be a wast of time. They are doing their job. More then likely won,t come back.

I normally do the alpha package 2 times a month. So that's 16 posts a month. Been open since September, so less than 150 posts from packages. A handful from exchanges as well.

A handful of members came from exchanges as well but I remove members with no posts after a couple of months and have deleted probably around 200 members.

I could do without them and have no issue, but eh it's a little extra and I sometimes get a decent topic or two.

I haven't requested a package or exchange since last week or the week before. I rely on postloop most of the time though. It's my back door activity.

So you still rely on a posting package for you site, take away ALL your posts from postloop/posting packages etc and bet you would not be as active as you think.

Well then I guess that is how it is done. It does not bother me how I get my activity as I actually do have active members posting for free.

I try to add some of my own content, and we got some fairly active staff, which helps a lot. Although I still rely on packages which I request once a month, and I now have a fixed date that I do it on, unless of course my last package took a while to get completed, then I'd wait not only a month, but an additional two weeks. I don't do post exchanges any longer because I cannot stand them. Way too many impatient people out on the Net who want you to do your side of the deal RIGHT NOW. We even have as part of our rules on Chatting Time that none of the staff members live on their PCs and laptops, but people just don't get the hint, which is why I refuse to request post exchanges anymore.

Tbh when i first started my forum i used packages and exchanges quite alot to kickstart my community, now i do the occasional exchange with a member or request a posting package. We have active members who visit us daily out of interest in the forum and the topics/people within it,

we have 35,568 posts and to be truthful i would say like 800 are from exchanges and packages around the net.

when i go on my advertising rounds like most people, on promotion forums your points will build up and after like a week of bumping your thread you will have enough points to request a package, the option is there you can get posts for promoting your forum..

why not request services if they are there? i really like being a member here at fp and if i get points for being a member and posting why not put them to good use? 🙂

So about 25% of my posts are packages/exchanges.

Post exchanges if i use this time i want some one that will do as weekly exchange with me not like 5 for 5 then you never see then again
i would want active for active but i will be picky in who I do this with
