How many posts should it have to sell at this amount?

If you wanted to sell a forum for $150, how many posts would it need to generate a buy? I am going to say all the posts would be in the

Generally the first thing to determine value is the current ad revenue followed by the potential for it if there is none. The kind of information gained from Google Analytics in terms of page views and unique visitors would help give some indication of that potential. Content type and quality is of course a factor but that's pretty much already determined in terms of popularity by the previously mentioned metrics.

I'd assume for $150 we are talking about a database only with little or no monetization and I'd also question whether there is any expectation of retaining some of the posting members.

Without that information it's really hard to say but if it was a niche I was already occupying and wanted to build on I'd want somewhere between 1500 and 3000 posts of reasonable quality.

This pretty much sums it up.

Unless the person only cares about the numbers to merge into another forum, I don't think many people would buy a forum unless it makes money or at least has an active member base for the potential to do so.

Posts and threads are irrelevant in the big scope of things, it really depends on the content, unique backlinks, domain ranking, keyword ranking, and a bunch of other factors. It's really hard to say "Yeah 10,000 posts mean $150" since their content can be crap, or be over a large time period that you rank so low on.

I don't think the number of posts and members is the determining factor for selling the forum, what matters more is the traffic and revenue.
