As the simple title says 🙂

How many years of which your forum has been running for now?

0 Years 0 days 0 hours

Same here, I quit running forums a couple years ago. I just come around places like this out of boredom & to see what admins are talking about these days. Maybe I can answer a topic or two based on my previous experience as a forum owner, too.

The longest I have ever owned a forum was three months before it got hacked and I lost all my topics and replies, don't forget the users.

I think I Was also an member then. Can't remember I have joined allot of website's in my time and 40% of them have closed

I've been debating on giving up owning forums. It's stressful and time I don't have as much time as I used to but for now I'm keeping this one open as I love running forums in general. Otherwise I've been doing it for 10 years. My current site is a year old

I've been involved with forums since 1999 when I was still in college. One of the first ones I owned was Basketballboards.net in 2002, which was eventually sold to VerticalScope. I've also started and sold about 40-50 others over the last 15 years.

The oldest forum I've got right now is SycamorePride.com, which I started back in 2007.

Yeah, I'm not one to ride out a loser unless I really like the subject matter.

Not running one at the moment sadly. Really hard to manage nowadays, and really hard to find reliable mods.

Unfortunately, when a site is young/small, you really have to do all of the work yourself. There isn't another way. If you're successful in getting that community off the ground, finding people who love the community as much as you do is easier. 🙂

Difficult question.

Technically my forums been running since about 2004 but it went down and I stopped working on it for years and only put it back up again this year as a fresh start.

My forum just recently reached it's 11th birthday. Granted, the current iteration was made in 2008 but that was only because we moved.
