How to add games to your forum?

I think adding something fun to your forum would interest more people to post on it, but how do you ‘gamify’ your forum?

Do you have a shop? Points etc? What sort of things do you do that help with engagement? I’m curious to read your ideas.

I’ve introduces the idea of levels so the more you post the higher the level and user awrdable badges etc but I’m keen to take it a bit further to add more fun to the site.

Maybe make up web-based browser games on the site, like Hangman, Jravascipted based on a Normal HTML webpage and then members can receive things for doing it

I used to have an arcade on my forums, but the problem with that is flash is going away this year so it'll become defunct. Unless someone develops arcade add-ons for all community software that uses HTML5 over flash, it'd be a great addition to a lot of forums.

I’m thinking less of actual games and more so a way for users to do certain actions that result in points or like a ship like FP has. Actual gaming things would require HTML5 nowadays anyway.
