Just Google 'webmaster forum' or 'admin forum' and take a look at the forum posts in any subforum and you'll see they match the posts on almost all other webmaster/admin forums. From one forum to the next, people are just asking the same questions over and over again. And, for anyone who owns a webmaster or admin type forum, this can be bad news as most people come to a forum for new information, not a rehash of what's been covered on other forums. So that brings us to the question of how can you come up with truly original forum posts? These would be discussions that engage your forum members and make them want to respond or turn casual guests into new members.

One idea would be to draw from your own personal experience as an admin or forum owner and talk about things you experience daily. Even if the basic idea or question in the discussion is the same as covered on other forums, then at least you have still taken the time to add something new to the conversation by relating your own experience.

What are some other ways to come up with unique and original forum posts?

Having a notebook to post any idea you have for a thread is a good way. Most of the topics comes from experience so while browsing around as a member you can be reminded of past experiences or witness something that will spark something. For me seeing how some forums differ in what they prefer is a good fuel.

though I am not an admin webmaster owner but I think it still applies.

I always keep a pencil and paper handy as well to jot down ideas, especially while I am on forums or playing video games (since my forum is a gaming forum).

It's true, but people have the same old problems all over the place.
But yes, I don't know how many times I've had a great idea and had to concede afterwards that whatever it was, I forgot. Noting down is the way :🙂
