I am booking a Chernobyl/Pripyat tour!

What?? Scientists researching Chernobyl wear bodysuits miles outside the radius of the reactor. Also, they are doing studies on wolves living in the city, and they are starting to see genetic mutations after only twenty something years.

Look, if what they are claiming is true about humans not being able to live there for another thousands of years, visiting only twenty-four years later seems preposterous.

The half-life of a radioactive element is looooooong. I just don't see the logic in it being safe to visit now, but not safe to inhabit for another 25,000 years lol.

Animals can live there as they don't live long enough to develop cancers or genetic mutations, meaning that their off spring are also unlikely to develop any of the side effects associated with radiation sickness/exposure.
I really wan't to go to Chernobyl, but I'd never go the the power plant itself.

Damn, man..."You can't live here... But you can come pay money to visit!" It seems to me that if you have a predisposition to cancer, which I do, it would most likely be in your best interest not to go anywhere near it.

I am sure the tour will not include the heart of the location where it occurred (unless you are prepared to wear a bodysuit ๐Ÿ˜›)

He says he's going to the nuclear plant, which I doubt; as I thought the entire area around the reactor was quarantined.
You can go to reactor 4.

I'm strangely reminded of the Hostel movie series ๐Ÿ™‚

Safe travel.

Lol, as long as he doesn't take drinks from strange men or go on a boat ride with a shady looking fat guy.

Be VERY careful though. It's not a joke. We're pretty close to Russia and it's not something to be taken lightly. The disaster area is still highly radioactive, make sure you do follow all the rules and not take any useless risks. You are risking your life in the end.

Isn't Chernobyl and Pripyat in Ukraine? Was formerly a part of Russia, so easily confused.

Yeah it's in Ukraine.

Flux you're not allowed at the plant, you have to stay I think it was 30 meters away from it, you're not allowed in the red forest and you're not allowed in the vehicle graveyard.

You stay in Kiev and do the Chernobyl/Pripyat tour on one of your days. You're not allowed to stay inside Chernobyl. The nearest living city where radiation levels are near normal is Kiev which is about 2 hours away but you get the tour coach from there ๐Ÿ˜€

I've researched a lot of this too ๐Ÿ™‚ we're going together.!

Ah thanks for the info, I thought the site I looked at looked a little unprofessional ๐Ÿ˜›

An update on this; I'm looking to book it for next year! I am thinking of setting up a blog for it at some point too.
