Post exchanges! It's what my forum was built on for the first few months. Even after a year, I still sometimes do them.
Do activity for activity exchanges. Where you both make 5 posts or so on each others forums everyday.
Placing ads alone will not do much.

If your forum is inactive, it won't matter how much it's advertised, nobody will want to join. To get a forum started off the right way, advertise as much as you have, if not more, and request posting packages. That way, it'll add 'activity' to your forum, and may increase your chances of registration.

Also, if you're looking for active members, try becoming friends with other forumers with similar interests to you. Then link them over. 🙂

You just have to do a lot of exchanges at first. I do exchanges and most of my activity comes from them.
Posting Packages here are great. You could also ask for a review 😛 We will give you all the advice and recommendations you need.
Activity exchanges are great. If you have a lot of time do a 5:5 daily exchange with like 10 people. That way you will get 50 new posts every day and all you have to do is 50 posts a night.

You're taking a risk on having gaming genre sections. Rather than the easier to post in, gaming console sectionsd.
Try the activity exchange route, as sshare mentioned. even if you have to start off slow, 3-5 posts a day from each.
Do post exchanges with other gaming forum admins, so you're both posting on gaming.

Yeah, I forgot to mention affiliations. If you're advertised on other forums related to the topic that your forum is, you're guaranteed to get traffic.

u do 1 post in my forum and get 5 visitors from my site... (u can check by google analytics as refferal by motorolafans.info) there might be 10 refferals..
