I got hosting at hawkhost, but I am stuck

since the index page with directory listing is now showing up on the link therefore i think dns has transferred properly however it maybe that the transfer is not yet complete.

try on going to cpanel of your hawkhost through fake url then install the forum software and see if it shows up on the link or not.

did you recive a email from hawkhost, with all your details?

you can just try doing everything on your tempomary url and cpanel and wait until your domain has updated 🙂

I got e-mail confermation from Godaddy that the nameservers has been changed, so they told me. So I will try what you say tomorrow, got to go to bed.

I know I can get into cPanel but its of my old host not the new cPanel of hawkhost. So should I use the fake URL to get into the cPanel of hawkhost and restore my backup ? Thats it ? Or is the problem that my domain DNS isn't yet to haw host ? I already changed it, but it seems to take quite some time.
You're switching hosts, right?

You changed the name server from your domain control panel, so you have to wait 24-72 hours before the domain name is fully propagated.

Try this and see what happens to get things to move a little faster, 😉

Start => Type in "cmd" & click it => Type in ipconfig /flushdns and press enter. ( run as administrator if you're using Vista )

Things should move up a little faster than normal. But, if this doesn't work and you're still seeing your old website after you've switched hosts, you'll have to wait 24-72 hours because of DNS propagation.

I know when I went to Pluto Host, Ashley.S. set up my domain for my forum, and while it does take sometime to update it, it actually took quite a while for me. We got everything set up that Saturday, and I waited till Sunday and I still couldn't get on first thing in the morning, but I was finally able to get on during the late afternoon/evening hours. So it does take quite some time for everything to update. I actually had trouble getting on after the 48 hours were up, but Ash said to clear the cache and all of that, so I finally did and I was finally able to commence setting up and getting to work and stuff, so it does take a while...

DNS change overs are soooo much of a pain! Oh god I hate em.

I'm about to move servers too and what my new host is doing is setting my site up first then the old host will have a redirect to the new one during the time that the DNS stuff is propagating over. So teh window of inaccessible time will be as small as possible.

Well guy's to give you an update I tried 2 hours to get the hosting fixed today, but I failed really hard. So I had no choice but to leave my site in a state until my partner fixes it, does the hosting switch.

http://www.commandandconquer4u.com as you can see I am totally stuck and tired. So I will let my partner do it, and I hope he can do it all.
