I really hope nobody steals my idea in this thread...

Since I was able to sell Social Forever & My Social Feed, (woot) I was wanting to start up a little project besides ForuMansion. I was pondering over the idea of hosting an arcade for the people of the foruming world to enjoy. Then this awesome idea came to me.

How many of you would use a website where you could post your 'help wanted' listing about your forum staffing needs, on a little network where you could categorize it and someone who is seeking the job, could post their application on your listing, so you could review it? (Woah, what a run-on sentence.) I think it would benefit the foruming world, greatly by making it easier to find staff. For $1 or $2, you would be able to mark your listing with a 'spotlight' type of attention so you would be able to find the staffing position faster and more effectively.

Please give me your honest opinion, as I don't want to spend my money on a project that will fall through the floor.

Well this was done before and it didn't work so well, you can do it but it takes a hell of a lot of dedication to get it started up once you've got it reasonably active your laughing it'll just grow and grow and grow.

Thanks Steven! It'd certainly require lots of exposure and advertisement. Anyone else?

I think if you put forth a good amount of effort and really think it out before you start creating the site, it could work.

It's definitely an idea to give a go at.

I think that this idea would only work if you can establish it properly. I would use it if it is active.

I'd quite like to do something like this too but it wouldn't work as a forum, it would need to be created from scratch, basically a custom coded site with all the necessary features. If you branched from job seekers such as blog posters all the way to theme designers it would probably work best though.

That is exactly what this is going to do! I've already got the basics all completed. This project will be ready, very soon.

I definitely use it, please be sure to update this thread when it's completed. I'd also beta test it for you too.

Almost all admin/promotion/webmaster forums have a job recruitment area. What is going to make people to choose to do job hiring in your site rather than in a forum like FP?
Clearly when i hire someone from FP or other such forum, i can look into his previous posts and see how good he is. But how can i do it in your site?

Honestly, i had thought about this idea before, but didn't implement it due to the above mentioned factors.

That's why they would submit a resume to you and you could go off and do your research on your own. This process would be faster. Rather than just to post your topic in a bunch of forums and hope that it gets seen by the right audience.

I personally would not be interested in such a site 😛
Oh, well that is fine! It's not for everyone. Just those that are interested in it. 🙂

There is a reason I use Forumpromotion.net and not any of the other smaller promotion websites (as much) and that is because how many people are on it and how active it is.
Thus you should conclude that many are like me, and will only use your service if it is active. However, for that you do need members that are willing to stick around even with a small amount of users there.

It will be hard to get going, though it would work well if you could keep it going and in use. I think that $1-2 is kind of a steep price for such an early service and I would recommend making it a free service. Instead of making people pay money to receive the most attention, have a really good points or reputation system to highlight the most respected users.

Down the road it could be the online hot spot for up and coming webmasters and a lot of other services could be implemented.

Icebox, I am trying to make it easier to get that kind of attention for forum owners all over the internet. People use Forum Promotion just because it's already active.

Newer promoters will think this is the old kind of promotion forum. I can't stand when people do that. But I'm just trying to make it easier to get that kind of attention and audience delivered.
