IPB would be alot better then vb. SMF and MyBB i think are steps down from what we have here now.

As for half the staff leaving/FP losing a lot of active members, I doubt it would be that damaging.

As much as I want to attack all of you for fanboyism and unfair bias against MyBB, I won't. Having said that, I still do prefer MyBB, but what's the point in going from one free software to another at this point in time?

Fowler in one sense is right. If FP has to convert, FP should go to IPB or vBulletin. We could then get Facebook Connect and I won't have to type anything to login 😛. But Fowler's right though. FP going to IPB 3 would be much easier to handle than FP going to vBulletin 4.

Oh by the way, ever since MyBB had a security audit in 1.4.2, they've been very secure, just like phpBB did back in 2.0.17. The only guys who have had problems in security as of late ironically has been vBulletin 4, but what do you expect when there's a lack of Darbyism in their culture?

I'd still probably stick around, although I agree, Forum Promotion probably wouldn't look as good on MyBB. Of course, most of us have been here for two years or more and we're used to it on PHPBB, so that's probably why we'd object to the move a bit. Also like other people have said, I don't think it would be as active as it is now.
