I have a forum on XF called www.talkbattlefield.com.

It started off well but has really dropped - do you think it's because the subject it too niche, or could there be something I'm doing wrong?

I was thinking yesterday, if you believe the outcome was too niche I could turn it into something a bit less niche (not giving away too many ideas 😉)

Having a forum specifically about battlefield is a great idea because there will be a large collection of people wanting to join. You just have to reach those people. Not sure if there are more areas for members that guests can not see - but I would suggest adding an off topic area. Where people can discuss anything. Even a technology area since there will be loads of gamers. No one wants to sit and talk about one thing for too long and you have to provide them areas to go and 'relax' 🙂

Thanks for the feedback. At the moment, I have a general gaming area, and an off-topic area (Area 51).

It's just hard to get started against the already well established Battlefield forums...

Perhaps host a couple of contests and competitions? You need something that'll draw members from those other Battlefield forums to use. Group events? Who knows.

I decided to change it to just an FPS Forum - it's doing well!
