If you saw a wallet on a street?

If I knew the person, and I liked them, id give it back. If I didnt know the person, id take the money, but leave the wallet with the id and other info there for someone else to return. If I knew the person and hated them, im keeping the money and burning the rest.

I did see a wallet laying on the road down the street from my work a couple months ago. I was going to keep it but I opened it and looked at the ID and I saw that it belonged to my one of my co workers. She came back later on that night crying, worried, concerned and freaking out. I told her that I had found it and we walked out to my car so I could give it to her. She was very thankful kissed me on the cheek and gave me a big hug and then gave me $50 as a reward. It made me feel good that I did the right thing. But if it were a strangers wallet I probably wouldnt go thru the trouble of trying to track them down.

Agreed, if it was someone i knew, i would give it back.

Same here. Stranger, ill keep it. Someone i know or see a few times, I would.

No, I would not take it. It goes back to the rule "do not do to others that you would not want them to do to you". If I lost my wallet, I would not want someone to take it, I would rather them return it or report it found. Even if you are tempted, you can always feel better when you do give it back 🙂

Well it depends on how much money it had in it. If It was like $100,000 I'd go to the police because it was probably illegal, if it was empty screw it, and if had something like a hundred or two hundred dollars I couldn't resist. 😛
EDIT: Dallas has a point. Maybe I wouldn't take it. xD

I've actually found quite a few wallets in my time... most have some sort of ID in them, so not hard to find the owner (and yes, first thing I've done is to call those numbers)... some full of cash and cards, other not... but not mine. Someone lost it, and if it had been me I would have been thrilled if someone let my know they found mine, so that's what I've done too.

One sadly had everything of value and ID taken out, so I just handed it in to a police station, as it was impossbile to contact the owner of it from what little was left in there.

Depends on the circumstances for me. I can't just sit there and take someone's money in a chapel or something. I'd feel bad...

But I would if I found it in the mall or something. XD
