The Discourage feature seems awful tempting to use! There's no trace if I try it? Except for other Admins seeing?
Yes, and Yes. Thing is, when you discourage someone at the account level, you're making their login look like it's slow. Lagging. It's similar to the "hellban" plugin on vBulletin. Same goes for IP discourage, the idea is the same. However, with IP discourage, you can also make it so that when that IP is discouraged, you can put the person into a page of your choosing. I do this to my own competition. Why? It's like saying "Here, you want traffic from stupid people? I discouraged them to your site, have fun with that spammer!" Its an asshole way of giving your competition garbage users.

I have noticed that there are a few here and there. Stop Forum Spam probably catches most of them though. It's not enough for me to shut the forum down to approvals only. =)
