Influenced by friends on sites you visit?

How much of an influence are your friends on new sites that you visit?

Depends on the person/forum in question; most times, usually not.

I've been influenced a few times. The first time was a girlfriend who really wanted me to have a Myspace page. So she made me one using my email and gave me the password. The second time was my ex wife who convinced me that Facebook was awesome and I signed up. After that, no. I don't ever get pushed to sign up on any new sites these days.

I have joined a few forums that my friends have run but I make my own decision to join what forums I want to join.

My friends have not joined, My online people aren't fussed or care. I only had one person that join that I used to game with and he's never active those that I always talk to that are aware of the site never support or help or have not joined. I mention and posted my feed in discord under my profile and one of my mates told me off saying that I was advertising in their discord...

I just gave up and end of the day I say nothing, the Worse part is that they tend to ask me for support and help and in return I get nothing

I am a highly opinionated person and it is not even easy to be influenced by friends in real life not to talk of social media.
