I think there are some things that are better but not all things.
For instance, I think health care and the way that people in the medical field are able to take care of sick people is much better now than it was 100 years ago or more. However, I think that technology has made it where we don't communicate with each other like we use to. Like, everyone sitting down at the dinner table at the same time and having a conversation with one another rather than playing on their cell phones.
It just depends on what exactly we're talking about.
It's allot easy now then it was back 100 or even 500 years ago. remember that 100 years ago isn't that old. people had an really hard life of living and working harder for way less money to what we get. yet again cost of things have changed
I think I wouldn't trade life now with everything at my (our) disposal - for life 100 or even 50 years ago. But if you're asking me about like trading life now for the 90's - early 2000's? That'd be a tough choice. I feel culture and entertainment back then (music and film), were far superior to the entertainment and culture that lives and breathes within society these days.
Definitely, life is much better now. One philosopher said, don't ask me because I forgot the name, that the pauper now lives better than the kings of yore. They didn't have the refrigerator and other appliances, no vehicles, no hospitals, and no conveniences that life could offer. Even the kids now are wondering what life was when there was no mall, much more if they get to know that life in the ancient times have no buildings.
I feel culture and entertainment back then (music and film), were far superior to the entertainment and culture that lives and breathes within society these days.
Most music now is not even music really. Albums come out with 15 songs total - only two songs are really good. I'm also noticing so many new songs have titles similar to previously released songs. Just with a few letters deleted or some words switched around. Today's music isn't 100% garbage by any means - but the depth and overall span of talent and quality that existed in the 90's is nowhere to be found in music these days.
