Is mixed martial arts making boxing obsolete?

This is the title in one newspaper column after the disastrous fight of Manny Pacquiao where he lost to Jeff Horn of Australia. There was no pay-per-view in the US because the promoter, Bob Arum, did not expect sales to be good. But in the upcoming championship fight in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko, sales of pay-per-view is brisk. If this is any indication then boxing may be losing patronage to mixed martial arts. As one boxing fan said, mixed martial arts fights are always thrilling and exciting unlike the boring fight of Pacquiao.

I don't think think boxing ill ever got broke, there is to much money involved. I think te issue was the lack of interest in it, well the thought of it.
