Is there a proper way to store a laptop battery?

Just charge it up and leave it, that way you know that your at least 40%, if the article is right.

I leave my laptop battery always on charge, i mean always when i sleep etc. i know it's not good but the better it's used, the better it performs is my motto 😉.

If your going away, id say just leave it off charge and put it away somewhere safe.

I have a laptop that I don't plan to use for about 3 months. I read online that I should leave it 40% charge since it is not good to fully discharge a Lithium Ion battery and recharge it back up again according to an article I read online.

I've heard it's better to completely let your laptop drain out to about 4% battery (at which point it should turn itself off) and leave it there, then when you come back to use it charge it up for an hour or so and then fire it up.

Honestly though, if it's just three months don't worry about it. I think if it's a longer period of time such as a year or two you might take these articles into consideration, but your laptop will be fine after 3 months.
