Is wanting to have sex a sin?

Even if I was a Christian, I still would not see how an instinct can be a sin. Bible logic is fail logic.

Wanting to have sex is not a sin, having sex is not a sin.

Modern Religion has made sex outside matrimony a sin or wrong, in the middle ages girls married at the age of twelve, some were betrothed at younger ages. Lords of the Manor would have sex with girls as young as that.

Governments have since made sex below a certain age wrong or illegal, this combined with religious beliefs has affected our moral judgement of what age it is right for a couple to have sex.

We are one of a very small group of animals who have sex for pleasure as well as procreation, sex is a pleasurable experience, if you are old enough and responsible enough ( condoms etc) you should be able to experience that pleasure without fear or recourse.

I want to have sex. I want to have cookies. What's the difference? Neither are illegal unless the former is with children.

What having cookies with children?

Thinking of sex, wanting sex and having sex is not a sin. People have been having sex not being married for hundreds of years. In the USA its self. according to the bible Adam and eve had sex not being married. although the bible says good punished eve by placing the baby in here.(we all know that's bull)

Hmm I always thought Eve was cursed with periods for seducing Adam, and thats why women call it the curse... I may be wrong though.

If you are a christian, then Yes, it is a sin. Hell, I've sinned a lot.
We are human and have human desires. Sometimes these desires are screwed up due to genetics.

YOU ONE OF THEM NUMBLA BOYSS???

Oh yeah totally. Think I'm a bit too old for them now though :/

It doesn't matter what we think is a sin and isn't as long as we do what we think is right. We, being Christians, aren't to decide what is and isn't. We shouldn't judge and we shouldn't decide what is a sin and isn't.

I'm a christian, but I live to my own morals and merits.

Is it a sin to be hungry, or thirsty or tired? All inevitable and uncontrollable feelings or emotions. It's how you act about them that defines a person in my book.

Very well put.

I'm not a Christian but I very much agree.

its sex addict.

If you can't stop thinking about the person and feel you have to have sex with her, then u got a problem. If you just think about it randomly, there's no harm.

Besides, no one knows what your thinking

-- 21 Oct 2010, 05:21 --

its sex addict.

I honestly don't know what to think.
I'm not religious in any way, and (not justifying my past) I've done some... stupid things...

I think it's natural, and if you understand what you're doing, then there's nothing wrong with it.

Modern law has blown many things completely out of proportion, and "religion" has compounded what's already blown out of proportion and made it even more messed up.

Yeah... I'm done ranting.

I'm a Christian, but I can't say I agree with you. Theoretically, if I think killing people is right, then should I do it? By your philosophy, I should go and kill people, but by a judge, I don't think saying "I thought it was right", will get me off the hook. It does matter what Christians believe is a sin and what isn't. We may not abide by all the commandments, but we act on what is morally right, and that in turn is affected by religion.

I think if you added "morally" before "right", then I would agree with you.

Sex by itself isn’t a sin. Religions like Judaism and Christianity encourage intercourse as long as it’s done within the boundaries of marriage. While procreation is one thing, recreation is another matter. Call me old-fashioned, but I believe that sex should be reserved to those who truly love one another no matter what. The immorality of sex depends on those who engage in the act itself. For example, rape would be considered as evil because it focuses on dominance and submission rather than mutual passion.

I would like to reserve this post to call you old-fashioned.

That's is really the only part that ticks me off. Marriage is a random person saying you are married and giving you a piece of paper saying that you are married.

Yeah sure i will go out and get a piece of paper saying i am married to the person i have been with for over a year so i can have sex with her.
