Businesses frequently use the names “landing page” and “squeeze page” interchangeably, but actually, they are very different types of web pages with different purposes.
Some call any web page a landing page, but this isn’t correct. Web pages can be about the company, a list of services, or an archive of press releases or newsletters. They each have a specific purpose but are not a landing page.
Squeeze pages are simpler and serve a very important purpose. You are “squeezing” your visitor for information. Use squeeze pages to obtain the name and email address of your web visitor.
As the poster above me mentioned, a squeezing page is a kind of landing page that is used to get information from the user. The type of information also include a page that is solely set up for to subscribe even for a newsletter.
I think what I would prefer really depends on the kind of page I am going to visit. If its a new site, I wouldnt mind having to go through a 'voluntary' squeeze page. however, if its a forum or just a general blog, I would be alarmed.
