The flexibility is just awesome. On the flip side, sometimes it feels like a maze with all the plugins and updates. I’d love to see smoother updates and maybe some built-in tools that make everything even easier to manage down the road.
I still use WordPress to power a couple of sites but it used to be a lot more. It generally does the job and because I'm familiar with it I've used it to create a few highly customized sites. That's the good.
The bad is two fold. Mullenweg the owner has become a liability hence my reluctance to maintain sites on that platform. In addition the core code is a bit of a mess.
There is nothing that I dislike about wordpress. I have been using wordpress as a CMS since 2015 and I have used it to create all sorts of sites including forums and online stores, and I have ran these sites successfully.
What I dislike in Wordpress is that for example compared to security of Drupal Druapl is little better in term of security. Add fact most of plugins are outdated.
I used to have several sites running under WordPress, but the issue that kept coming up was after putting in several plugins. The site would become a little sluggish. There were probably many other sites out there that had a massive amount of plugins installed.
