Making my own skin for a phpBB 3 forum ?

Hey everyone i wanted to know how could i create a custom made skin for my forum ? Any software that is required to do that ?

Well you'd need any graphical editor really, photoshop would be the best but i don't see why the others won't work 😉.

It's easier if you create it from a HTML theme. Beta 7 was a HTML theme and it was then added as a phpBB3 theme.

Well, I've made about about 20 different phpBB styles in my time, most paid for by other people although I currently have 3 public releases.

Now, making phpBB3 styles isn't particularly easy (if you want to make a good one) and it takes time. You need to use a graphic design software such as Photoshop to make the images, but then you need to actually code them in using xHTML and CSS. If you don't know Web Design, you don't stand a chance making a custom phpBB3 style. Sure you can change a few images and change a few colour codes, but realistically if you want to make something totally unique, you need a good graphic / coding knowledge.
