In the past I've made attempts of just sitting still and not thinking of anything but it did not work for me. I kept on wanting to scratch an itch or I would start of thinking of things I needed to do. Then I came across this program called Zen 12 which I listened to for a while and it was an excellent tool to help me go to sleep. 🙂

I've recently started a new routine where I "meditate" before I eat breakfast. What I do is I listen to a couple of meditation tracks and I am able to focus on a particular sound or instrument to keep my mind relaxed. I also sit down but don't make myself to comfortable in order to prevent myself from falling asleep. If you're interested I go into a little bit more detail on why I am seriously trying to practice meditating now: Click Here

Have you ever tried meditating?

I got bored and impatient when trying to mediate. I don't relax, just not something that I do.

With me, I couldn't meditate in the morning at all. The last time I tried to meditate in the morning, even with sitting on the floor, I would almost always fall right back to sleep.

Also, I can't do it in the evening, since the house has never been free of distractions in the evening, till past 11 PM.

I know it can be difficult. I have to meditate if I know my husband is going to stay in another room or if he's working. Most of the time though I wake up before he does and meditate in the morning.

With my ADHD, it is hard for me to just sit around and do nothing. I love being busy so I barely ever just relax. I will try this one day though! 🙂

I remember that game actually! I personally skipped the yoga parts of the Wii Fit. lol I think meditating with music really helps because you are able to focus on the music itself and it's easier to distract yourself from thinking.

I might try it with music. Thanks for the idea 🙂

I'm not very good at meditating. I have done a few practices though.
