I know, I'm trying out new ways of driving interest towards a forum. I figured that just promoting a forum wasn't going to create long term intertest in a forum, but if a forum hosts events then it had a better shot of keeping interest. Since interest is mainly driven by excitement, doing stuff lie this helps keeps the excitement going.
