My computer monitor screen keeps flashing like it's blinking. It just started doing this yesterday. I have tried pulling out the cord and plugging it back in but it still does it. Any idea why my monitor screen is acting up? Any way to fix it? Thanks!

What have you done to your monitor to cause it to flash?

It's possible if you have an older computer monitor that something near it's interfering, or you have it connected to several other monitors and that is causing a problem.

I have no idea what is causing it. It was working fine with no problem until yesterday then I turned it on and it started blinking/flashing. I can still do stuff on my computer it's just the flashing that makes it annoying. I have quite a new computer/monitor too as I bought it a year and a half ago.

Did you check the connection between the cord and the computer? Otherwise, I'd recommend a different cable

I need you to let me know if your computer is the lights on a police car?

The problem might have been solved upto now, but I would like to add my comment.

You may be using a CRT monitor which can cause the signal fluctuations for the screen to flash.

I have same issue about 8 months ago. Just Fixing by reinstall your windows
I think it doesn't help. Monitor screen is very complicated, the thread owner should bring it to the fixing service.

check warranty :cheer:

Would his warranty even still be good enough? I know after so much time, depending on what kind of replacement plan you purchased along with the monitor, it's only good for so long. He would probably be OK if he got the warranty like, last year for instance and it doesn't expire for two or three years (I think the max is three years, typically?) but yeah.

Thanks all for the help. My computer monitor works fine now. It was because I upgraded to Windows 10 that it started doing that and then I fixed the problem.

1. Open Task Manager, click File > Run new task, type ‘msconfig’ without quotes and press enter
2. Click on ‘Services’ tab, find two services named Problem Reports and Solution Control Panel ‘and Windows Error Reporting Service‘ , uncheck them to disable, if Windows prompts you for a restart, do it.
3. After the restart, your screen may not flash.

I will go ahead and close this since the problem has resolved.
