My laptop gives me electric shocks

I hear semen conducts electricity... have you done anything to it in the past few days?
rofl JK
In that case, I'd better... nevermind, I can't say that on here. xD

Is it fun getting shocked? xD

@Fowler: Never tell a joke again in your life

@Snobo: Not really. Kinda inconvenient, it's not a big shock, just feels like being poked with a really hot skewer. I'm not going to do anything about it, manufacturers warranty finished long ago 😛

Have you let the battery drain lately? Also, does it happened when its plugged in or when its not?

My battery drains regularly when I forget to charge it and leave it running over night. Does it happen when its plugged in? Yeah, and when its not. 😀

Trust me, if you're trying to troubleshoot the problem it won't work 😛

But in response to your question: Nope.

You never know, lol.

Well dust and stuff can cause this problem. So have you tried turning the laptop off, unplugging it from the charger, take out the battery. Then try wiping the area with a dry rag or with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Let it dry and put everything back together.

I'm no computer expert ( infact I really don't know anything about them ) but if a computer has water in it, wouldn't it just die and not work? I don't understand why it would start shocking you.

You probably have some sort of electrical problem. Water in the laptop is extremely doubtful

Rubbing alcohol drys really fast. Also, I dont think anyone would put a massive amount. Just a small amount like what you would put a q-tip to clean your ears or something.

Water is laptops often occurs more than water in desktops 😉

Been to the beach recently? It's quite possible a beached whale could have crawled up in there and flopped around enough to pull the cover off a wire and make it touch the metal that leads to that socket 😛

I wouldn't recommend taking it in for fixing with the HDD plugged in though, those Geek Squad people will screw you over in some way shape or form (steal your data, report piracy, ect).

I am sure it hurts..but be happy because you just experience little hurt.
