I assume that you used a chrome text tutorial for the banner. but honestly there is a big drawback of chrome effect that I have learned from personal experience

Chrome effect will never ever come good on narrow fonts.

and secondly the shadow of subtext could have been lighter.

To me, I think the chrome/WhateverTheEffectIs is a little bit much. Maybe it is just because of the thin font. Also, the shadows get cut off on the sides, maybe you could extend them a little bit.

I'd say extend the width of the banner itself to let the shadows end gracefully, and use a thicker font. Overall this would be a nice banner for a darker forum.

Like the idea, id go easy on the chrome and make the sub tex a wee bit thicker :great:
