I have heard of ways to integrate wordpress into mybb a viceversa. But I haven't seen anything official.

The portal kind of works like a blog so that would be your best bet for now.

I believe it's compatible with 1.6

I would use the built in MyBB portal. It's much better than any mod I would say, because it is made by the MyBB team.

To get to it just go to /portal.php instead of /index.php

There is also a way to set it as your homepage but I forgot.

For a blog there is a plugin(I think paid) called myblog.

It's called MyBlogs and it's from MyBBSource if I remember correctly. As for WordPress, you can integrate it with the MyBB users and comments.

For instance, if you write an article, and you have set it to post in the Blog forum on your board, any comments made to that article will also show as replies on the board, and vice versa.

Yeah but remember, Nickman has stated the only support available for MyBlogs is on MyBBSource.
