As many of you know, there are plenty of domain discussion forums to compete with, but I was wondering if anyone would take advantage of a forum that offered free domains (hosting,forum licenses etc.) to members who posted. The process would be quick and easy, so very little information would be needed. An example some of you would remember would be something like dntemple.com used to be.
I need thought on this idea and feedback from the members on if you would use the forum to acquire free stuff before I consider development 🙂
Any forum that offers free stuff to their users that has an appeal such as free hosting and domains will always be a success as long as the admin is trustworthy and will give the products to its users. If done properly it can also produce a stream of revenue for the admin
I agree with kingcool. Whenever the forum is constantly giving stuff away for free, then people will come. I feel like I would use it to get some free domains probably...depending on how it worked exactly. I've seen forums when the owner would register domains for people to use, but would never push them to the person's account, so if the owner disappeared, the person who was using the domain name(s) would get screwed. I wouldn't use a forum like that, but if you were to actually push the domain to my account, then I would use it.
Most of the admin /promotion forums (including mine) or hosting forums offer this already for forum cash. Are you thinking of same or something else with this forum?
Well I was thinking of one that was heavily relied on by automation, so when the user gets enough forum cash he makes the purchase and it automatically ends up in his/her account with one click of the button, but it seems XF doesnt have an advanced enough shop mod at the moment :/
