New Ownership on Forum Promotion

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone.

Welcome MasterA. I'm very exicted to see what you bring to the table. Do you have anything you can share with us now about your future pathway for this forum? Everyone loves a good spoiler or two...

I do have a few things in mind but I think it's quite important to know what you and all the members want. So rather than what I will bring to the table, what do you want me to bring to the table?

Congratulations on the new ownership. I'm sure if you spend some time going through the Community Matters board you will find a whole heap of improvement ideas, some of which will be excellent changes to make. 🙂

Thanks. I will look through the community matters board and bring discussion on ideas that I think is good. We want our members to get involved so if anyone has any new suggestions, please post in the community matters board or message me and I will bring it up to the team for further discussion.

Thanks.

Wow. This is such a crappy way of avoiding the question. Of course members want things, the forum is full of radical suggestions. Regardless of what they are, any admin or owner has a vision for the forum and what they want to focus on. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect you to share that vision with us.

Members may not get a direct say in the transfer of ownership, but in a way we do. Keep in mind if we as a community don't like what you do here, people will start to leave. You've clearly already made Nerdie happy but that's only part of what you have to do. Now you have to show us what you're going to do and that you're capable of being a good owner. I think part of the recent problems FP has had stems from Nerdie not doing that very thing when he bought the forum.

So, what's your vision for Forum Promotion?

Wow this is a bit hostile 🙂

I think it was a good way of answering the questions the question by asking what we as a community want and hopefully working to make our wishes happen.

I'd like to see a little more professionalism/organization when it comes to advertising and what not. I know it I good that anyone can join and basically advertise but it seems a bit messy and I wonder can the sections be better categorized somehow.

How would you suggest better organizing the Promotion Directory? That's not something that has to wait for new ownership. The PD is something we've been discussing for a while now and we've even thought about reverting the system so we're open ears to see how you think it'd be best to make that section clean.

I'm not trying to give him a hard time, I'm just curious and would like to know more about this mysterious new owner.

I think you are contradicting yourself a bit. The Forum Promotion future is decided by the members of the forum and the members of the staff as none can exists without the other.
Of course any admin has a vision of how the forum should continue to exist but that does not mean he can't change it. The reason why members are asked what they want to see from this forum is to find that point somewhere in the middle from the staff visions of the forum , the members vision of the forum and the owners visions of the forum.

I do not think members will start to leave because there is a new owner, also its still to early to attack him don't you think ?
In my opinion everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves , mistakes will be made that's for sure because we all make them, whats important is to try to fix those mistakes and remember not to do them again in the future. So why won't you just give him a chance to prove himself ?
If you are right you can say afterwards "Ha I was right he ruined FP." but I think everyone including you wants to have a FP future where they can say "I am glad we didn't chase him away , he actually did something good for FP." .

As M and MasterA said if you have any question or suggestion just pm it to a staff members. Every idea, suggestion or complain is welcomed as long as you remain polite and explain it in detail it will be read and brought up to all the staff members.

I don't know why I'm being criticized for asking the new owner of this very successful forum for his vision and plans for the forum. He surely has some if he took on the role of owner and wanted to buy the board. Why is it so unacceptable to ask for that to be publicly explained so we can all know?

If we know his views, it's easier for us to make our suggestions and meet in the middle as you said yourself. We know nothing about him, I just want to get to know him better. I really don't know why you're acting like I'm causing a big commotion. I'm just asking questions.

Prefixes for the site niche and you can search threads by their prefix so you could just look at webmaster forums by filtering that prefix. There's a free idea.

And it'll be interesting to see how MasterA handles Forum Promotion, good luck.

Well, it was.

I will create a separate thread with my vision shortly and you are free to give me your suggestions on it. Thanks. 😀

Nothing has changed to the way quotes are done, unless for some odd reason you are typing before hitting the quote button, or something else. 🙂 Either Way. Looking forward to see what MasterA has to say.
