Odd Ways of Promotion

What are some odd/different ways you've seen (or done) people promote their site?

I've seen a gaming forum where the staff members wore t-shirts with their forum link to Comic-Con before.

I have seen that way of advertising also when I attended a game's anniversary (it was termed as Audiversary). Another was through radio. I tried it before, and somehow it works. It's just weird to hear the DJ giving an ad-lib then your forum link is being mentioned.
