ProBoards V6 has been put on the back burner.

You have to look at this from a business point of view as well, forums are not doing that hot these days so I'm sure that was part of the decision.
Even some of the big boards are struggling to keep members active
I don't think that's it. I think its more to do with their "agile" workflow. Or the lack thereof. Proboards, if I remember correctly - is owned by Vertical Scope. They have money to spend, the issue I think stems from paying people to do "x."

One of the things discussed in the thread is they have problems with getting things where they want it to be. Beta's available now, but to reach feature parity with v5, is what is frustrating and grating on their patience - I think they are just taking a step back and taking a breather. Basically... "Ok, let's chill out for a second. What do we want for this product? What do we need to get the desired results? Let's take this to the drawing board..."

Nothing to do with forum marketplace or economy. Its just, the team is just trying to get everyone on the same page, and not cause in-fighting over getting it right or whatever internal frustration is seeping.

Its a bit different from vBulletin, but at the same time... similar, because there seems to be a disconnect somewhere. Like, where do we want development of v6? In Canada? In U.S.?

I think Proboards is anxious to get v6 out. I think they've been at it for years at this point. Vertical Scope is trying to be a good sport about it, and encouraging them to slow down and get it right, but where are we gonna get the talent to develop this ...thing?

Just like MyBB did with their 2.0 product. 🙁
Came to say exactly this, but what did it for me was their attitude toward the community about it and then the lack of features compared to what was initially promised and even other hosts at the time.

The only reason I opened my first forum with them is because I was new to being an admin and I was already running my brother's forum on IF at the time and it scared me. But once I got over my anxiety I quickly learned how far behind PB was even with their updates..

Ironically enough my statement about PB then, applies to MyBB now..

It's a shame to see that V6 is no longer being worked on. Hopefully Proboards doesn't shut down in the near future, but this isn't good.

Little sad that they decided to suspend production for the time being. I was expecting an update to V6 to happen by the end of the year, if they were on track initially when they started allowing people to try beta.
Ive seen a few forums start again on Xenforo to offer their members a modern experience so PB is losing customers.

Hopefully they do something quickly.

I do see something about a Beta now..

I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.

If PB allowed us to migrate over, I'm sure more would abandon ship.

It sucks and they know this that’s why they do everything in their power to not allow it.

A Australian Football forum i go to cut their loses since being on proboards since 2001 and moved to XF.

I know of others who have moved as well & started over. I'm still holding onto hope that we'd be able to migrate.

I feel bad that you guys work so hard to get the posts you's have but they treat their service like a facebook page where you's are unable to move.
Unfair tbh.
