SO what kind of space and bandwidth do the active members get, also what do you define as an "active member".

I think it's a really great idea that you're offering this to active members. It will give them something to work for, and it goes without saying that it will attract guests to your forum.

I like how you've kept your forum fairly small. It makes it look more established than those forums you see with loads of sections and only a handful of posts. Also, it was a nice idea to keep the forum a narrow width. I find that it fills lots of empty space and makes your forum look more "packed" with content.

In order for a member of my forum to get FREE hosting they are only required to post 10 posts on the forums to get started. Afterwards they will need to post 5 easy posts each month to keep the FREE hosting account active.

With the FREE hosting, members will get:

cPanel 11 (with the new X3 style!)
100 MB of Storage
1000 MB (1 GB) of Bandwidth / month
Unlimited e-mail
2 FTP Accounts
2 MySQL Databases
2 Sub Domain Names

I ended up changing the width back to 760px because some users are still on the 800x600 resolution. As a promotion site I think its especially important to cater to all guests.

Yea I was thinking of pruning the members as I got about 40 banned spammers included in the total. As you might know a promotion forum is a little harder to get rolling as people usually come post a advertisement and leave. However, I will be coming up with a few new things soon to get people to stay.

I get a little busy with "real life" such as Military, job, and wife. Oh ya and also running a forum with over 40,000 registered members and over 1.5 million posts (pruned). If you like SIGSAUER Guns come check us out! ~wink~

Its running on Eve Community. Although I prefer vBulletin, that forum has been on Eve for many years. The members are used to it and don't want it to change.
