It's like in real life, if you have an idea, but someone else copies that idea and claims it as if he/she were the author you have nothing to do (unless you can paper-prove it). It's just like the first one to claim the idea gets the credit. I know it doesn't sound fair, but unfortunately that's how it works.
But it's always good to let the users know that as an administrator you care of the privacy and authoriy of the information.
