Upon viewing Fel's Photos for the first time, one of the best features about the site is the content. With 17 pages full of images, and six different categories there's no doubt that the site is plentiful with content. Alongside the images there are blurbs written bellow each image, telling the visitor a bit about said image. You also ask your visitors questions sometimes to engage in conversations, another awesome feature. Finally you go into detail about yourself and about the site giving a bit of insight to those who are new to your website. Though the writing section of the site could use a few more articles as posts are pretty scarce in this section. Perhaps this section could be merged with the "Misc." section? It doesn't necessarily need it's own section since the site's niche is based around photography.
Site Navigation
While viewing the site for the very first time, one thing I loved was how easy it is to find any content listed on the site. The gallery is split between a few categories, making it as simple as one click to find a specific topic the viewer is interested in. The header also contains links for those who are new to the site, and shows different social media sites they can find your work on. Plus if they have any questions, they can easily find the "contact" link listed in the navigational bar.
Weaknesses:
Theme is a bit bland.
I feel a few more improvements could be made to the theme to make it look more professional. The background image only covers half of the page, which looks odd especially while scrolling down on any page. Despite this, I do like the different images that load after viewing a few different pages. I think it would look more professional if the image fit the entire page rather than only half of the background. Next, I find the color scheme to be a bit boring. There are a few shades of grey and white, with purple in the footer. I think adding some more color to the theme would help brighten the site.
There are a few typos and errors.
While viewing your site I did notice a few typos, spelling and grammatical errors here and there. I also noticed that your social media links have been listed twice, once in the header and again in the footer. The links listed on the bottom should be removed since the links are listed in the header and use buttons as opposed to text, making this look more professional.
One of the first typos I found on the site is located bellow the "About Me" section. It's a tiny typo, so it can be easily looked over. The line "Have a question for?" is missing the word "Me." Reading the sentence for the first time I didn't notice this, until I re-read it a few times. One of the few spelling errors I noticed is located in the "Start Here!" article. The word "wildlife" has a space between the word "wild" and "life." Again this error can be easily looked over, but it's best to proofread your posts of course.
Final Remarks:
Fel's photos offers plenty of content to view, and every day there seems to be new content posted, which means it is very active. With a few more tweaks done to the theme, the site would look much more professional than it does in it's current state. Also removing the social media links located in the footer of the site would also help the site look more professional. Keep up the good work Lunar! 🙂
