Over here in America, we have a particularly pathetic view of what's going on between Palestine and Israel. We've been lulled into this view that Israel is this tiny, helpless nation sandwiched around a trove of Muslim countries that wish nothing but to have the Jewish people expelled off the face of the Earth. While the latter part of that sentence may be true, there is a distinct reason why the Jewish state is hated in the Arab world other than what's being fed by us over here.
In fact, Jews and Arabs have existed in the Middle East with much indifference to one another for centuries. It is quite easy to argue that Jews have fared better in Middle Eastern countries than they have in any European nation. The truth is that the Jewish state is oppressing Palestinians and using its own belief of divine return to expel them from their land and make conditions so bad for the Arabs there that they'd have no choice but to leave on their own. The Palestinians have resorted to terrorism for this reason, not because of some age-old hatred between Muslims and Jews.
With that said, the US desperately needs to stop being the single country that unquestioningly supports these people. Israel is such a small nation yet it has emerged as a military superpower under the billions of dollars funneled to them year after year by Washington. Israel has had nothing to defend themselves against that would justify them being propped up to such superiority in that region. The Palestinians have no aircraft and I don't think I've ever heard of a Palestinian tank running through a Jewish settlement. I think anyone would feel the same way if their land was taken away by force by a foreign group when said group was often welcomed with open arms without need to fight.
There is no need for any bullsh!t "peace processes" that pop up every now and then because they improve nothing. It is a true testament to how cunning the Jewish state has been since its inception in ruining the Palestinians' power that they would effectively use these processes to make the world believe that they are the victims and that the Arabs are the aggressors. The only thing that needs to happen is a complete disowning of the Jewish state by the U.S. and real action by the U.N. in enforcing the many sanctions that have been handed upon this aggressive state over the years.
If you've ever found something- anything wrong with a news report or a story about a conflict between the Jewish state and Palestine- it does not make you anti-Semitic or a Jew-hater. As a matter of fact, many Jews reject the Zionist movement that has driven Jewish history in this direction. Many who lived there before the formation of the state will say they lived peacefully with the Palestinians. There is indeed something very wrong with what is ongoing in Israel and changes desperately need to come to this sad excuse of a nation.
