Here are 13 sentences that illustrate why foreigners might have trouble learning the English Language. 🙂

4) We must polish the Polish furniture.
5) He could lead if he would get the lead out.
6) The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
7) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.
8) A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum
9) When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
10) I did not object to the object.
11) The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
12) There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row.
13) They were too close to the door to close it.

The bandage was wound and wound.

That's what I read at first. :dead:

"4) We must polish the Polish furniture."
That's more of a Polish problem than an English one. :-D

See, it's simple.

On a more serious note, I find other languages fairly difficult to learn.
I think every language has parts which are intended just to screw with your head 😛 lol

Too many words meaning the same thing like:

  • "I want a Wii for Christmas", "We are going out."

  • "The sun is rising.", "That is his son."

Can't be that difficult. My gf became fluent in 2 months when she was 12.

Most English people that are born in the English world can not speak/spell English right..

Our own language and most still don't understand! 😵:arghh:

Foreign languages aren't my thing - but I haven't tried hard enough maybe. Most of my time has been spent on math and music.

@Keranov would be the king English learner.
It was very easy for me to learn it. Currently I'm learning Russian. I think it's harder than English.
Russian is definitely harder, especially learning to read and write it.

But isn't @Keranov's native language, Bulgarian, and Russian in the same language family?
