With two weeks remaining until Election Day, the political map has expanded to put Democrats on the run across the country — with 99 Democratic-held House seats now in play, according to a POLITICO analysis, and Republicans well in reach of retaking the House.

It’s a dramatic departure from the outlook one year ago — and a broader landscape than even just prior to the summer congressional recess. As recently as early September, many Republicans were hesitant to talk about winning a majority for fear of overreaching.

It really doesn't matter who wins. This election will be just like the last one, and just like I told everyone who asks me. No matter who wins, We The People, will lose.

I'm more eager for these relentless advertisements for candidates to be done with. Just like Lounger said nothing will change, the politicians screwing us over will just belong to a different party.

Special thanks to our ultra-conservative Supreme Court for allowing anonymous corporations individuals to donate unlimited amounts of money to Republicans campaigns. 🙂

Thanks for reminding me, therapy was just starting to work too.

It doesn't matter who is in office. Your average politician looks after himself. Add a term limit and you may actually see things getting done right instead of doing whatever will keep them in office forever.

It won't be that bad on the Dems. Trust. They'll lose seats, but not 99.
I don't foresee ninety-nine seats lost, but it's a really bad race for them. My district is usually an EXTREMELY safe Democratic hold (Democratic since 1982), but the incumbent is actually in a legitimately close race this year.

We're finally going to be rid of Sen. Blanche Lincoln, but a Republican is taking her place. It's bittersweet, really.

Just like it was here in Massachusetts last year. Everybody figured Martha Coakley was a shoe-in for Kennedy's spot, but a Republican won.

I'll borrow a quote from George Carlin for this situation.

"Now, there's one thing you might have noticed I don't complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain't going to do any good; you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody: 'The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.'"
