I've never heard of anyone doing that, I sure don't. If I was a staff member on a site and was told I could only be on so many other sites, I would quit that site.
No way lol. I wouldn't dare. It's none of my/our business what they do outside of the forum. I have often been staff on two sites at the same time myself. Couldn't possibly judge someone else for doing it.
Nope, as long as they are able to perform their job properly and dedicate themselves to their role + the forum then I don't mind how many forums they are apart of.
Even if someone is paid to moderate your forum, restricting what they do in their free time, especially when they work as a community member, is pretty impetuous and silly.
I've never even thought about this before. Actually, I'd feel relatively offended if someone were to tell me that I'm not allowed to post somewhere, even if I am getting paid. If it were a case where there is a feud between owners I would like to think the person I was working with would trust me enough to not want to support the other person for how ugly they are being if that was the case. I would never tell any of my staff members they can't post in another online community.
I'm honestly not sure why anyone would think of telling other people how they should use the Internet. As long as they're not slandering anyone from the forums, then I don't care.
I misread the post and thought they were talking about staff on multiple forums. There is no way I would tell anyone how many forums or sites they could be part of.
You know, even rival forums thus would be wrong . When I was co-running the large anime site, I was friends with the owner of an equally large rival site. He made jokes about making me a mod, lol. Not a chance. In seriousness, I turn down mod positions every year because it's not possible to do. XD. I do moderate a chat on a game site, but only because I play there anyway. I gave up modding it's forum to concentrate on sakuga city.
If it was a case of staff being on so many sites that they had no time for ours, or just them not logging in, their activity would speak for itself really. No point checking up on them. If they can't do their job, find a replacement.
