Review of http://telelit.com

Okay, well I visited your forum on my linux OS just to be sure 😛.

Pros:
It is one of the more profession forums I have seen lately. Great colour scheme. I am pleased to see people still emphasize the importance of unique, original colour schemes instead of every default forum: blue and gray. Great contrast in the cololurs. The bright yellow makes the gray appear it even has a shade of dark blue. This really gives the forum depth and feel. The member group colours are smooth and fitting as well, although the member group colours are only visible in the info center... why not the boards as well? I like how the navigation menu has a nice, in-depth hover image, further accompanying your colour scheme. In addition, it is really nice how it is fixed as you scroll.

Overall it is clean and original, attractive to view, and has a fitting amount of content for the activity present.

Suggestions:
As soon as I visit your page, Firefox is telling me that it prevented me from being redirected to another page. The code at the bottom might help fix this issue. I may suggest at the top where it says "Welcome to Tele.Lit..." putting a breif description concerning what the forum is all about. The title is a bit vague, and I had to look around at the boards to get a general feel on what I can find there. I also suggest you looking into the code; it could defer guests from even visiting if they get the same warning I did.

Code Information:

Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL. Domains, protocols and ports must match. I believe all the suspicious activity, and url redirect is coming from an ad with incorrect, and/or messy code.

A width and height should be specified for all images in order to speed up page display. The following image(s) are missing a width and/or height:

Web Page Performance
Optimize the order of styles and scripts (4)
The following external CSS files were included after an external JavaScript file in the document head. To ensure CSS files are downloaded in parallel, always include external CSS before external JavaScript.

4 inline script blocks were found in the head between an external CSS file and another resource. To allow parallel downloading, move the inline script before the external CSS file, or after the next resource.

Remove unused CSS rules (250)
19.83KB (74%) of CSS is not used by the current page.
css.css: 19.43KB (74%) is not used by the current page.
ads: 204B (86%) is not used by the current page (2).

I really hope this has helped. I'm not trying to demean you or the forum; I just think it is such a professional forum, and feel there are a few little things that should be addressed and can be easily fixed. I wish you the best of luck and great forum!

Thanks, and I really appreciate all of your tips!

I think what was prompting your BitDefender was a code that was set to display; none. The way it was explained was it basically was just text (no javascript or anything, just CSS), that served as keywords and got the attention of crawlers more easily. I removed it, though, regardless. When I added it, the person did have a warning that it may be misconstrued by some protectors, and that some crawlers may react badly from it, while others would come because of it. Since it proved to be an issue and made you hesitate, one person hesitating is too many, and although no one else has mentioned it, that CSS bit has been removed.

As for the rest of your comments, I appreciate it and will do my best to improve. Thanks so much 🙂

We're a little older now (over two weeks). Anyone have any feedback for us?

We've also expanded our forums quite significantly, adding more categories. Any thoughts?
