I'm not sure since I have not tried it myself since I don't own a very high end computer with 16+GB of RAM, and a Quad core 64bit CPU like an Intel Quad 2 Core , and multiple 10,000RPM hard drive in RAID 0 or 5 which can easily handle running multiple big computer programs at a time.

But, I hear a lot of antivirus makers, IT Techs, reviewers ,etc say running more then one antivirus is a bad idea since it causes conflicts and slow down the computer.

However, I know of people with very high-end computers with a dual-quad core CPU and 8GB of RAM, etc who run an Antivirus like AVG along side "Malwarebytes Paid version (with an active malware shield)", Immunet Cloud antivirus, and threatfire (zero-day malware/rootkit scanner and remover with real-time shield), Comodo firewall with Defense+ and sandbox technology, and their computer been safe from viruses and malware, and has not slowed down . All these security programs, usually detect and remove malware which does the same tasks "ruins windows, invade privacy, scam you into buying fake antiviruses, and steals your personal info."

I myself run multiple active security software like Antivir Free, ClamAV Immunet cloud antivirus, SuperAntiSpyware "paid version with an active shield", System protect, Sandboxie, Windows Firewall, threatfire (till it started acting weird after an threatfire update), and I had have no problems with conflicts, major slowdowns like a lot of IT tech said. But, all the active security software was designed to work with othe security software to protect a PC from Malware.

It's not even the fact that a "fast computer" would prevent multiple anti-virus software's from causing problems. Problems would occur on any type of computer.

Conflicts can indeed arise when running more than one antivirus in real-time mode. Using multiple ones to scan is completely fine, however, when running more than one in real-time mode, they insert components into the Windows OS, and may fight for permission over detected viruses. If one AV detects a virus and attempts to remove + quarantine it, the other would detect the quarantined file and attempt to remove that, causing an endless cycle to occur.

This software also catches viruses by updating it's definitions, some of which contain bits of virus code which may be detected as a virus by the other AV.

Yeah, don't run more than one real-time AV.

I notice there is a new breed of antivirus which uses cloud computing technology to help detect viruses. It runs pretty quick and does not require the user to manually or schedule automatic updates.

I'm currently using Immunet Cload Antivirus : http://www.immunet.com/main/index.html with Avira's Free Antivir. Immunet was designed to work a long side your regular antivirus to give you enhance protection according to the website info:

"Fast Antivirus: Immunet leverages the speed of cloud computing to deliver real-time protection to your PC

Light Antivirus: Immunet is up to 35 times lighter than traditional antivirus solutions

Real-time Antivirus: Immunet provides cloud-based protection that is always up-to-date against viruses, spyware, bots, worms, trojans, and keyloggers without slowing down your PC. No need to download any virus signature files!

Companion Antivirus: Immunet is compatible with existing antivirus products to help protect you better. Add an extra, lightweight layer of protection for free

Community Antivirus: Immunet's Collective Immunity™ technology protects all users the instant that a virus is detected on one PC"
