When in a long term relationship, do you eventually share finances or do you prefer to keep your finances separate?

I'm not married, so our finances are still separate. I guess that will change when we do get married. Then we'll be filing taxes jointly and such.

For the longest time my husband and I kept our money separate. When we finally decided to establish joint financial goals and combine incomes our relationship grew even more intimate - I didn't know that was possible.

My husband and I combined out bank accounts when we got married. We've been filing our taxes jointly since then. But both of us have our paychecks going into the same bank account and we pay our bills out of that same account.

My husband & I share finances. We believe it's not "my" or "your" money, it's "our" money.
I do know that may not work for some people but it works for us.
@Katrina It does make doing taxes easier.
@Sharon I agree! It's the trust aspect.
