OK, i will switch to myBB. The backup I only have for phpBB is about 1 week old. I don't want to install all the mods and do all the other stuff with a new phpBB installation.

Create a new backup then?

I found all my backups now. The latest backups was march 1st, where problems started. I will be using phpBB, and now I made up my mind after I read what Fowler said.

MyBB is the best free forum software, and vBulletin the best paid. Use one of those 😉
OBJECTION!!!!

IPB is the best paid. 😉

As for MyBB, I say yes. It is superior to all other (free) software in many, many ways. It's generally a lot more user friendly in almost every aspect. phpBB required 5 page loads to do anything.

Post count not shoeing up in the profile. It will say 2 but when I view the posts it'll be the actual amount. xD

Recount and rebuild. It's normal for some stats to be off after a conversion, but if you recount the posts and threads, it should solve it.

i think it all depends on your programming skills. if you are fully confident with html and php i would say phpbb otherwise go with mybb. as mybb is much much easier to run.
i also switched from phpbb to mybb. and i dont regret it a bit. have a look at my site, you cant really tell that i am using mybb. its so much customizable.

As much as I agree with your objection, I don't think it's necessary to make it big and red 😛.

MyBB's template system is pretty easy to grasp, and it's simple. All you need to know is basic (x)HTML and CSS. You don't have to learn some proprietary coding system which doesn't really follow standards and such. Also, to me it makes no sense at all. Also, you'll love their plugins system, it's much easier to install mods than phpBB. The merge script is pretty easy to use too.

Amen. +rep

All objections must be big and red. It's just how things work. 😛
